JAM foreign trade precision marketing: think very much! How does Facebook's big data know you better than you do?
In Facebook's rules of the game, users are goods, businesses are customers, and Facebook is sellers.
While we use Facebook for free to tweet, search, and retweet, we also pay a heavy price: the disclosure of personal information. Many companies collect personal information from us on Facebook for business purposes: to better understand customer movements, customer preferences and personal information about customers, and so on.
Your personal information is Facebook's product, trading between Facebook and merchants every day, and merchants can make a big marketing statement when they get a lot of user information.
For example, with Facebook's Audience Insights report, which contains a lot of user data, merchants can gain a deeper understanding of existing and potential customers. Insight reports contain data about users, such as demographics, psychometric characteristics, regions, interests, and buying behaviors, to help businesses develop better creative strategies to target these users. For example, merchants may find through insight reports that 70 percent of high lifetime value (LTV) customers are women who love high-end retail brands and live in the suburbs of a particular region. With this information, merchants can tailor more efficient marketing solutions to target these potential customers.
For example, merchants can contact potential customers with data compliance in customer access data displayed by Facebook Ads Manager. If, according to the survey, some clients prefer leisurely golf and some prefer intense boxing, you can infer their favorite stars and related sporting goods, among other interests. Merchants can even download a customer's email address and write e-mail communications based on the customer's different points of interest. When you reach an effective potential customer, you can find similar fan base through Facebook, which is a valuable potential customer, and with Facebook's fan base, more and more potential customers will follow your account and related products.
Why facebook has so much
User information?
In fact, from the first day you use Facebook, Facebook stores everything about you, including the time you sign in, the ads you click on, the events you're invited to, the list of people you follow, your friends, your hometown, updates to your status, and more.
That's basically the history of what you do on Facebook. The data could also help Facebook get to know you better. When others have unauthorized access to this data, they can also learn a lot about you.
Next, we can see how Facebook understands us so well and how we can download our own profiles.
What exactly does Facebook know about us?
To find out exactly what Facebook knows about us, we can check out the page titled "Access Your Facebook Data."
Surprisingly, Facebook has stored so much data, from the time you log in to the chat conversations between you and your friends, saved credit card numbers, phone numbers, photos and more.
The other day, when I clicked into the page and looked at my data, I found a record of my conversations with a friend years ago, all the photos I posted, the ads I clicked on, the group I was in, all the tweets I've sent since 2005, and so on. It even has a record of me being invited to a university study event in 2006!
How do I download your Facebook profile?
You can download your own data profile from Facebook. Here are the steps:
Go to facebook.com/settings
Click "Download a copy of your Facebook data"
3
Click "Download Profile."
4
This may take a few minutes, but Facebook will alert you when your profile is ready.
5
When your profile is ready, click Download Archive again and download a zip file to your computer.
6
Open each file in the folder and you're ready to browse the archive.
